Amby Baby hammock bed recalled!
Posted by admin on Dec 13, 2009
The Amby Baby hammock bed has been recalled. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission released a directive for its recall after two infants had suffered an unfortunate death connected to the hammock bed. Health Canada has also issued national advice to parents to stop using the product, as it may be potentially lethal.
Two U.S. infants suffocated whilst in the hammock bed during 2009, both under 6 months of age. This was due to the unstable nature of the hammock. Whereas in normal hammocks motion is restricted, the Amby Baby hammock bed allows for virtually unrestricted movement. This leads to the possibility of a child rolling and becoming trapped in a dangerous position.
Contact Amby Baby for a free repair kit. Garden-hammock.net urges consumers to dismantle the hammock bed safely and in a manner through which it may never be assembled again. Amby Baby USA can be contacted at (866) 544-9721 between 9 a.m. and 5p.m. ET Monday through Friday toll-free. Alternatively you may visit their Website: www.ambybaby.com.
